So, the main purpose of this topic is to provide complete details pertaining to safari booking in Ranthambore Tiger reserve. Although there is not much tourist attraction point in spending a lot of time but except jungle safari. In dense pristine forests of Ranthambore reveals an ecstasy of safari by 4×4 Jeep and safari bus (canter), with a knowledgeable naturalist and most accomplished drivers. If you are planning to visit Ranthambore national park and wanna to book safari in tiger reserve, first of all you must aware that safari booking is under control of the Forest department (Government of Rajasthan India), There are limited entry of jungle safari vehicles in Ranthambore National Park and advance jungle safari can be booked 365 days before date of visit. (Now book online safari 365 days before instead of 90 days in Ranthambore. This new safari booking system starts from September 15,2018, See Article) There are two option for safari booking one in online safari booking for Ranthambhore Tiger reserve and another one is walk down to the Forest safari booking office at least one or two hours before a safari booking start. Here are few useful points with information of Ranthambore safari booking procedures, which will be helpful for you.

(a) Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve remains open for tourist from 1st October to 30th June and remains closed during monsoon period that is July, August and September, but few tourist safari zones remains open in monsoon season also , these safari zones numbers are 06 Kundal , 07 Chidikho .08 Balas area so you can enjoy also in monsoon period.

(b) There are two safaris shift a day in Ranthambhore, You can choose safari shift according to your convenience, one starting in the early morning and the other late in the afternoon. When the sun is not strong, then it is the best time for wildlife viewing. The tour lasts for 3 ½ hour.

(c) It is highly recommend booking your safari in advance 365 days before date of visit to avoid disappointments, as only a limited number of vehicles are allowed each day in the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.

(d) At the time of safari booking forest department required full name and photo ID proof number & name of each visitor. It should be correct and complete same as original photo Id proof. Forest department reserved the right to cancel safari reservation/booking, if you provide incorrect and incomplete ID proof details. In case, boarding pass will not be issued against such a wrong/fake reservation and refund will not be made to the visitors.

(e) Forest Department required only passport details for Non-Indian whereas For Indian national identification proof that are accepted are any one of the following – Passport numbers / Driving license number / Pan card Number / Voter Identity card Number / Aadhaar Card number /School ID and other any Government ID. Same original Identity proof is must before entry into the park which was given for safari booking.

(f) There are two types of safari vehicles permitted into the Ranthambhore Tiger reserve. One is jeep that is 4 wheel drive Maruti Suzuki Gypsy, wherein six people can be accommodated in one time for jungle safari. Second vehicle is safari bus which is known as Canter it has 20 seats for tourist. Both safari vehicles are open top roof and travel in same sector. It is owned and run by local people and registered to the Forest department. Vehicles that are not registered or attached to the forest department are not allowed into the park.

(g) Ranthambore Tiger reserve is divided into 10 safari zone. You can select your preferred zone ninety days before at the time of safari booking, after ninety days required safari zone are subject to availability. All safari zones are best and designed by forest department there are no bad zone in Ranthambhore Tiger reserve. Various zones are preferable on different travel days and you can detect about wildlife by only one or two days.

(h) The biggest dilemma in Ranthambore National park is that limited safari Jeeps and Canters are allowed and everyone wants to take safari by Jeep where as both jeep and canter travel in same park area and both offer the same opportunity for wildlife viewing. You are strongly advised to book Jungle safaris in advance, particularly Jeeps safaris.

(i) If you are going to book safari in Ranthambore you should mention Safari date along with the preferred times for safari (morning/afternoon), safari vehicles i.e. Jeep or canter and your boarding place or hotel name in Ranthambhore.

Forest department assigns to the guides, drivers and safari vehicles by the roster system. You should not expect same guide and driver for each safari. If yes! If you want to carry preferred nature guide in all Safaris then you will have to pay extra guide fees to the Forest department with an application to Deputy Field Director. In your application guide name, safari date and time should be mentioned. It is very crowded at the time of current / immediate safari booking in Ranthambore at safari booking office. You should get book jungle safari in advance, better than scuffle in the crowd.
