Male tiger T 65 found dead in Ranthambore National Park Rajasthan

On Tuesday, the body of 10-year-old male tiger T 65 was found lying in the water at Kharaya Chatha located in Khandar range of Ranthambore Tiger Project. This sad news has come from Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary on Tuesday.

As soon as the information was received, the forest officials of Ranthambore reached the spot and took possession of the carcass of the tiger and sent it to Rajbagh Naka, the city of Sawai Madhopur district headquarters. Veterinarians cremated the body of Tiger T 65 after post-mortem in the presence of Forest, Police and Administrative Officers.

No marks of injury or serious wounds were found anywhere on the tiger's body. This tiger is most likely to have a heart attack. On the morning of 25 June 2016, the body of 11-year-old tigress T-11 was also found in Ranthambore in a similar manner.

It has been revealed in the post-mortem that the tiger T-65 died after 12 o'clock on Monday night. No fatal injury marks were found on the tiger's body. In such a situation, there is no possibility of this tiger having conflict with other tigers. At the same time, other wildlife of the sanctuary are still drinking water in the water hole in which the tiger carcass was found in the sanctuary.

Veterinarian C P Meena told that there was a lot of congestion in the liver and heart of the tiger. There was blood in both the valves of the heart. Samples have been taken by the Forest Department for corona examination including tiger's viscera and blood. The samples taken from the carcass of the tiger will be sent to IVRI Izzatnagar, Bareilly and Bharatpur labs for testing. The cause of death will be clear only after the report comes.

Experts say that even the suspicion of the tiger being sick cannot be ruled out. Because if the tiger was elderly, it is natural to die due to natural causes, but many questions are being raised on the death of the tiger in the water. In this way death is pointing towards his illness. The tiger may have died of a heart attack.

The samples will be sent to IVRI and forensic lab for examination. The real cause of death will be known only after investigation. CP Meena, Senior Veterinarian Ranthambore National Park
