Tiger Census to go digital in Ranthambore with mobile app
Now wildlife census will be all over the country with the help of ecological mobile application. It has also been prepared for Ranthambhore and now wildlife census in Ranthambore National Park will be from Mobile application. Tiger, leopard as well as vegetarian wild animals and vultures will be count throughout the country with the help of the ecological application. The Forest Department has downloaded this special app in the mobile system of all the employees, who have to count wild animals in Ranthambore National Park. If everything happens according to the plan, soon the wildlife census will start from the mobile app in Ranthambore.
A few days ago, a team of experts from the forest department came to Ranthambore from Kaila Devi sanctuary. All the enumerators were trained by the team of experts to run mobile apps.
This App will work on GPS System
This app has been developed by the department and will not require internet to run it. This Mobile application will work on GPS system. Feeding of data can also be offline in this app. This time, this app is being used simultaneously across the country in the census of wildlife. According to information received from forest officials, this is a new experiment in the whole country. The department has made changes in ways of census of other wildlife including tiger through this new app.
This app will operate from Team Selfie
To turn on this ecological application system, Employees on the wildlife census will have to take a team selfie. After this the employee will have to choose the option of territory, range and beat. In addition, the name, post and mobile number of the team members will be provided by employee. After this, enumerator will have to work in the online or offline map of Google Satellite to roam the forest. This tool will be provided by the Information Technology Team of the Forest Department. It will also confirm the location of the enumerator, where the census has been made. When uploading it to a mobile phone, Google Map will take the location itself. After that the app will ask for information about animals, which the employee will to give in software.
Training to Field Director and ACF
In order to census of the wild animals from the mobile ecological app, a training camp was organized in Delhi in the beginning of January. For this, field director and two ACF went to Delhi for training from Ranthambore National Park. After this the three officers trained TOT (Trainer of Trainees). At the moment, TOT is training all Rangers and forest guards of Ranthambore National Park. After this, the work of wildlife census will start by the end of this month.
