Ranthambore National Park consists of dry deciduous forests and open grasslands. Ranthambore National Park has the highest number of Dhonk trees in the forest. Wild animals found in the national park include Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, wild boar, sloth bear, striped hyena, sambar deer, chital (Spotted deer), nilgai, gray langur and crocodile. 

There are many large lakes in Ranthambore National Park, one of which is Padam Talab. It is near Ranthambore Fort and on the banks of this lake is a red sandstone building known as Jogi Mahal. A huge banyan tree, which is believed to be the second largest in India, is near Jogi Mahal.
