If you are on Ranthambore Tour or planning to visit Ranthambore National Park, you should carry totally sober clothes with eco-friendly dyes. Forest Khaki, Olive Green and brown colors with the blend colors are ideal for wearing in national park. If animals see shiny colors in the Park, they might get frightened, as they are not used to them.  

Firstly, we talk about the summer season. The summer season often lasts into May and June. You should expect unrelenting heat during jungle safari in between month of April to June, because these months have heat to burn skin. Mostly daytime temperature reaches between 35 and 47 degree Celsius. Even the lightest T-shirts feel like warm jackets. Take along you lightest garb during Jungle safari in Ranthambhore National Park and do not forget to take dark glasses and sun hat with you.

Winter months begins from November in Ranthambor which can be realized by the end of February. It is the opposite of the summer season. Morning Jungle safari is often chill in winter season and after wearing several layers of warm clothes you can feel cold. Although, there are very pleasant days in winter and can spend an entire day with sweatshirt. Evening time in winter pounding cold starts once again, even the night temperature drops below 10 ° C. You are advised to carry a pair of gloves and a muffler during Ranthambore adventure tour.  The gloves should be thin yet warm so that can provide easy grip to handle your camera and efficient movement of the hands during wildlife photography in Ranthambore National park.

Community Facility

You should not need to worry about communications infrastructure During Ranthambore trip. There are communication facilities available almost all hotels in Ranthambore including e- mail, phone calls service, Wi-Fi, internet access, video conference etc. Mostly Hotels in Ranthambore offers their own facilities of communication to guests, which can use in country or abroad. Most of them have tie ups with the local telephone Exchange operators to get your call through using the conference utility. Even if these all options are not working then there are phone booths available with an overseas dialing facility in town area, which may be around 10-15 minutes drive from wherever you stay. 

Essential equipment

Take adequate precautions before traveling in the sun. Bring sunscreen lotion, Mosquito repellent (More so in summer than winter), dark sun glasses, a wide brimmed hat or sunshades in summer, carry water bottles, Pen and notebook for animals check list. Carry binoculars, it will helpful while observing the flora and fauna. Bring some necessary medication, since brand names of medicines available in India. You can carry also morally antiseptic cream. If you plan to take a lot of wildlife photographs, do not forget to bring extra memory card or substantial reels for your digital devices. You should also keep some extra set of batteries in your camera bag with using non-standard batteries.

Rules for Photo Equipments

There are no charges for Still Camera.
Charges for Pcam (Movies 8 mm, 16 mm and video camera used by a mature photographer), DCam (Video camera and movie camera used by professional photographer for films other than feature films - filming by Indian company/agency), VCam (Video camera and movie camera used by professional photographer for other than feature film - filming by foreign company/agency), FCam (Movie and video camera used for featurefilm) as per Tourism/ Forest Department policy.

Jungle Safari Timing

Jungle safari timings depend on the time of the sunrise and sunset. Generally speaking, the Park opens to the tourists half an hour after sunrise and closes half an hour before sunset. The forest authorities determine Park entry and exit timings, and these are subject to change without prior notice.

October to February -  7.00 am to 10.30 am and 2.00 pm to 5.30 pm
March to June -  6.30 am to 10.00 am and 3.00 pm to 6.30 pm

Do’s and Don’t in Ranthambhore

Do’s

• Abide by the rules and guidelines of the Park and show respect for the inhabitants.
• Follow the instructions given by Forest Officials.
• Maintain silence inside the Park. Go around the Reserve slowly & cautiously.
• Wear sober clothes with environment -friendly colors. Choose from shades of brown or green. Animals might get frightened when they see bright colors since they are not used to them.
• Maintain a safe distance from the animals and vehicles, park vehicles only in parking areas and road layoffs.
• Take care of your children.
• Keep outside influences, as far as possible, outside the park. Transistors, tape recorders, blowing the car horn and loud conversations are taboo in a national park. You will observe more wildlife if you are quiet.

Don’t

• Smoke, Walk, Swim or fish, Picnic, light a fire nor cook, Litter, overtake, honk inside the park.
• Play music or make Noise, Tease Wild Animals.
• Feed any wild animals they have plenty of natural food in the forest and do not need any junk food. By feeding them you are changing their habits.
• Polythene bags, tetra packs and other such materials. They not only spoil the beauty of the park, but also may harm the animals.
• Stand up when you are close to tigers - a large animal might see it as a threat and may be provoked to strike back.
• Wear perfumes or any other strong smelling substances. The animals are sensitive to smell and it may arouse their curiosity. Animals are generally shy and tend to hide when they see a human being.
• Attempt to lure them out by throwing stones or other objects. Leave them in peace.
• Use camera Flash of spot-light, Carry weapons, Take pets inside the park, explosives not toxic chemicals.
• Over speed, Get off the vehicle, Deviate from the allotted route.
• Leave the roads and drive cross-country, except at specified places, Crowd more than two vehicles at a spot.
• Overstay beyond the scheduled timings, Enter without proper tickets, Encourage your driver to stay parked at one place.
• Enter before sun rise or after sun set, The entire park is exotic and tigers are found all over the park.
