The forest of Ranthambore is divided into 10 different zones for safari. By the way, all 10 safari zones of Ranthambore National Park are open for wildlife safari from 1 October to 30 June every year as per the entry time of the special season. But even in monsoon (July to September), 6 to 10 zones of the park are open for tourists for jungle safari.
The Ranthambore Tiger Reserve has a jungle safari scheduled for visitors twice a day, one safari starts in the morning and another safari late in the afternoon. Usually, the time for opening and closing the park gate for jungle safari is according to sunrise and sunset. Typically, the park opens half an hour after sunrise for the morning safari and closes half an hour before sunset in the afternoon safari. Consequently, the duration of the jungle safari at Ranthambore is approximately three to three and a half hours in each shift.

In the remaining months of the year (July to September) zones 1 to 5 of the park are closed to visitors due to the monsoon season, while zones 6 to 10 are open for safari in the monsoon. Wildlife safaris can also be enjoyed during the monsoon in Ranthambore National Park. Although the park is open for safari during the monsoon season, November to April is considered the best time to visit Ranthambore National Park. Because the weather is pleasant at this time, nature is at its full puberty, the beauty of the forest is seen all around.
Safari Timings in Monsoon
Jungle safari timings are synchronized with sunrise and sunset during monsoon in 6 to 10 zones of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. Even in the monsoon, 6 to 10 zones of Ranthambore National Park have two safaris every day, one in the morning and the other in the evening. Ranthambore National Park usually opens a little after sunrise for a jungle safari even in monsoon and closes shortly before sunset. Both morning and afternoon safaris are about three and a half hours at Ranthambore.
Jungle safari at Ranthambore during monsoon is available only through current booking and is subject to weather conditions. Therefore, Safari may be canceled by the Forest Department on any day / Shift without prior notice due to bad weather or track conditions or for any administrative reasons. In such circumstances only the amount of safari booking will be refunded and other claims of travel such as cost of travel, loss or compensation of any kind will not be considered.
Safari Shift, Mode and Zone

Jungle safari is considered as the best way to explore wildlife in Ranthambore National Park. Every day, two safari shifts are held for a specified time in all zones of the park. In Ranthambore you can experience unforgettable jungle safari twice a day as jungle safari is conducted in two shifts every day. The safari timings vary according to the season keeping in mind the convenience of visitors in Ranthambore. The areas of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve where visitors are allowed for safari have been divided into 10 zones by the Forest Department. Visitors on a jungle safari in Ranthambore are allotted only one zone out of ten zones and are not allowed to move out of the allocated zone. Best Time to Visit Ranthambore
