Wow! Ranthambore National Park is going to re-open for visitors on October 1st after a long monsoon break. Every year Ranthambore National Park remains close three month in monsoon period that is July , August and September, although Jungle safari zone 6 to 10 remains open for tourism activities in monsoon season so you can also enjoy your Ranthambore wildlife holidays in Monsoon as well.

Wildlife enthusiasts often prefer to visit Ranthambore national Park after monsoon break and specially visitors wants to take jungle safari in zone 1 to 5. These Safari Zone remain open only from October to June. Mostly visitors have an impression that principally tiger appears in these zones, but in reality it is not truth because all jungle safari zone planned by the Forest department and best for wildlife viewing. All zones have tiger region .However, few safari zone in Ranthambore have water source including lakes, which is helps grow and spread plants around the area. Hence, in these areas are more herbivorous animals and visitors have good opportunity to see tiger in his natural territory. However tiger sighting is a matter of chance and its pure luck followed by patience and persistence. Tiger sighting in Ranthambore depends also on last sighting, terrain identification, kill density and warning or alarm calls.

During your Jungle safari tour you can have opportunity to see tiger in their territory, as Ranthambore famous tigress T16 aka Machli has her territory in zone 5, T-39 aka Noor and her cubs in zone 1 and 2, At present famous tigress T19 aka Krishna and her three cubs in zone 3 and 4, Male Tiger T-34 in zone no.6 and T-8 and her cub in zone no.7 and 8….AHH! Thus you have lots of chance to see tiger in Ranthambore. Although zone system in Ranthambore is for wildlife tourism activities and jungle safari vehicles, so that Forest department can manage tourism activities in the tiger reserve, there is no any delimitation or enclosure for animals, they may move anywhere in the forest.

Second thing there is no any Buffer zone or area in Ranthambhore Tiger Reserve, It is Critical Tiger habitat (CTH) and area of the Tiger reserve spread around 1410 sq km and only 20% area is open for tourism sector as per Supreme Court guide line. Buffer zones are only in Karauli District. The critical tiger habitat of Ranthambore Tiger Reserve (RTR) is divided in two identical sized partitions. One division part is Ranthambore, where at present the tiger population is booming, while the second part is Kailadevi section, where there is no currently resident tiger.
