Tigers footprint are increasing at Safari Zone 6 to 10 in Ranthambore
The number of tigers is increasing in the Ranthambhore National Park in Sawai Madhopur, popularly known as Tiger City. Due to the growing population of tigers, they have been forced to change their territory. The situation is that the Tigers have been forced to search their territory in Zone 6 to 10 except Safari Zone 1 to 5. In such conditions, the tiger struggle is also increasing for their territory in Ranthambore Tiger Reserve. More than half a dozen tigers have left Ranthambore Tiger reserve and they have turned to other wildlife sanctuaries.
There are nine Tigers have left their territory
There are about 9 tiger-tigress have left safari zone 1 to 5 and have made their territory in zone 6 to 10 and other place in Ranthambore tiger Reserve. Apart from this, there are about five cubs, which have left the zone one to five, these safari zones are considered to be premium safari zone in Ranthambore National Park. These cubs are also roaming with these tiger-tigers. These include especially the tiger – T-85″ Packman", T-34 "Kumbha" and T-8 "Laadli". Apart from this, the name "Sultan" T-72 on the tongue of the people for a long time, has been ruling in the Kaila Devi Sanctuary of Karauli district for almost a year.
At the same time, Tiger T-80 "Tufaan" has also reached the oontgiri forest area, in the Maharajpura Naka of Karanpur range of Keladevi sanctuary. The tiger T-80's movement remains on the border of Ranthambore and Kela Devi. Apart from this, Tiger T-92 has also been roaming with Sultan T72 in Keladevi sanctuary for the last one year and presently the tiger T-91 has reached Ramgarh sanctuary of Bundi district.
According to the forest department, there are around 65 tigers in Ranthambore, including the young ones, but some tigers have gone outside the park from here for make their territory. It includes: T62, Kalu, Dholu. Tiger T62 is one of the T-8's cubs. In 2014, it had reached at Ramgarh sanctuary via Talwaas and then one year later it started appearing at Zone 6 to 10 in Ranthambore but its real location is not known yet. Even, Kalu and Dholu too have not been visible for long time.
The most tiger sighting in Zone 6
Generally, there were more tiger sighting at zones 1 to 5 in the Ranthambore National Park. But this time, there are good tiger sighting recorded in zone 6 to 10 of Ranthambore. In this season, tourists have seen the highest tiger sighting at zone 6 in Ranthambore National Park. According to forest officials, this time in Zone 6, almost every day tourists have been honored with tiger.
Tigers and their territory
According to wildlife experts, many tigers have changed their terrain due to increased tourist pressure in some special safari zones of Ranthambore National Park. Forest officials said that the packman (T-85) who used to roaming previously at zone No. 2 and 3, now he is doing variance at zone number 7 and 8 of the Ranthambhore. The male tiger T-91, who use to live at Zone 2 and zone 3 of the Park, is now in Ramgarh Vishdhari Wildlife Sanctuary in Bundi. Apart from this, tigress "Lightning" (T-83) have also changed her terrain, earlier she used to live at zone two and three of the Ranthambore National park, then she changed her territory and went to the zone 4 and 5 in Ranthambhore. The movement of this tigress stayed nearby the hotel Sher bagh and the surrounding villages.
Apart from this, first the Tiger Sultan was at zone No.1 in Ranthambore, but now it is in Kaila Devi sanctuary of Karauli district. At present there are T-34 Kumbha , T-8 Laadli and her two cubs in zone No.6. There are T58, T61 and her cubs at zone No.7 & 8 in Ranthambhore National Park. Ranthambore safari zone 9 and 10 has territory of Tigress T13 and one cub and also has area of the Ranthambore's big male tiger, name Fateh T-42.
The reason for the escape of tigers – Full day and half-day safaris
In 2016, full day and half-day safari was introduced for tourists in Ranthambore on behalf of Forest Department. In such, there are number of tourist jeeps are sending for full day and half day safaris, In such a situation, continuous movement of vehicles remains in the jungle. In such a situation, the tigers are disturbing by full day and half day safari vehicles and changing their terrain.
Members of the Wild Life Standing Committee have opposed for full day and half day safari
The Wildlife Standing Committee meeting was held in month of November regarding full day and half-day safari in Ranthambore. In this meeting, the member of the committee and Supreme Court lawyer Anjana Gosain had opposed Full day and half day safari. She said that the tiger is being disturbed by this.
Forest officer Ajit Saxena says that "the number of tigers has increased compared to last year. So this time, there has been increase tiger strength in Zone 6 to 10. Full day and half-day safari jeep can be sent to any zone. There is no restriction in this. There is no such thing as being disturbed to tigers."
