Opposition to the decision to shift the tigress from Ranthambore National Park

Tigress T 124 Ranthambhore National Park

Protests have started in Ranthambore against the decision of the Forest Department to once again shift the tigress from Ranthambore to Sariska.

Wildlife lovers in Ranthambore National Park are opposing this decision of NTCA and Forest Department. It is worth mentioning that preparations are being made to shift Tigress Riddhi i.e. T124, daughter of Tigress Arrowhead from Ranthambore to Sariska.

The Forest Department has also got permission from the National Tiger Conservation Authority (NTCA) regarding the shifting of the tigress.

According to wildlife lovers, both the Sariska and Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserves currently do not have suitable arrangements for tigers. In such a situation, tigers are rarely able to survive in both the Tiger Reserves. Earlier also tigers were shifted from Ranthambore to Mukundra and Sariska Tiger Reserves, but within a few days, tigers died in both the places.

Tiger T 75 died in Sariska Tiger Reserve

The last time in 2018, Tiger T75 was shifted from Ranthambore National Park to Sariska Tiger Reserve. But a few months after the shifting, the tiger died in Sariska. The cause of death of the tiger was said to be heat stroke.

Mukundra could not remain populated by tigers

The worst condition is of Mukundra Hills Tiger Reserve. Till now Tiger T 91, Tigress T 106, Tigress T 84 i.e. lightning have been shifted from Ranthambore. While a tiger T 98 had reached Mukundra on its own. Of these, one tiger and one tigress have died. At the same time, Tiger T 91 has been missing for a long time. At present, only tigress MT-4 i.e. lightning is left in Mukundra.

Need a tiger not a tigress

If wildlife lovers are to be believed, there is a need for a tiger in Sariska at this time. But the tigress is being sent to Sariska by the Forest Department and the government. Whereas at present the number of tigresses is more than that of tigers.

According to the information, at present there are 22 tigers-tigress in Sariska. Of these, 11 are adult tigers - tigresses. In such a situation, there is more need of a tiger than a tigress in Sariska Tiger Reserve.
