Tigress Sultana ran after tourist safari jeep in Ranthambore

In a viral video, tigress Sultana T107 is seen running behind tourist vehicles during Ranthambore Tiger Safari. Tourists in Ranthambore National Park were in shock on the morning of January 2, 2022, when the famous tigress T-107 alias Sultana chased a safari jeep in Zone 1.

A mobile video clip of tigress T107 allegedly chasing gypsies has gone viral on social media. In the viral video, the tigress can be seen approaching jeeps at a crossroads in Zone 1 of Ranthambore. Then suddenly the tigress runs towards a jeep.

The incident took place on Sunday morning during a jungle safari around Singhdwar in Zone 1. The tigress Sultana ran after two jeeps full of tourists. The driver ran a gypsy in back gear and saved the tourists.

Though the tigress did not attack the occupants of the safari jeep, it was a moment of panic among tourists going on a jungle safari in Ranthambore.

According to the information, the tigress Sultana was seen during the jungle safari near Singhdwar in Zone 1 in the morning shift. Tourist vehicles gathered to see the tigress. Then the tigress got agitated and started running after two gypsies (safari Jeeps). After running behind the jeeps for a while, the tigress stopped.

In such a situation, the gypsy drivers ran the gypsy in reverse gear for about 30 meters, distanced themselves from the tigress and saved the tourists. Suddenly, seeing the tigress coming towards them, the tourists in both the gypsies stopped breathing once.

As a precaution from the Forest Department, Zone 1 has been closed for tourism till further orders. At present, monitoring is being done by the Forest Department to study the behavior of the tigress. The Forest Department has also installed cameras at many places in Zone 1 for continuous monitoring of the tigress.

Sultana, the tigress who ran behind safari vehicles in Zone 1 of Ranthambore, had hunted a dog near tourist vehicles six days ago. Its video is becoming very viral on social media.

Sultana has run behind vehicles in the past too

This is not the first time in Ranthambore National Park that the tigress Sultana has charged tourist vehicles. She has done this twice before. In the past, the tigress Sultana ran alongside the canter. Once she had put her paws on the back of the jeep.

Recently, on 24 November 2021, Tigress Sultana aka T 107 had also chased 2 forest guard patrolling the bike for some distance. However, even after this, Zone 1 was closed for tourists. About a week ago, Tigress Sultana had hunted a dog among tourists' gypsies.

Wildlife experts believe that the tigress Sultana may have a natural tendency to chase safari vehicles, as it has never attacked a human till date. Biologist Dharmendra Khandal said, "The Territory of Tigress Sultana is in Zone 1 of Ranthambore National Park. The movement of the tigress is recorded near human settlements including Ranthambore Fort, Ganesh Temple Road and Jhumar Baori area, but this tigress has never attacked a human.
