Before telling the types of Ranthambore National Park Jungle Safari, here I would like to tell you about the Jungle Safari Zone in Ranthambore National Park.

Safari Zone

There are ten different zones for Jungle Safari in Ranthambore National Park. Safari tracks in all zones pass through beautiful forest valleys and streams, So that tourists can enjoy the natural beauty of the forest. There is tiger territory in every safari zone. There are about 2 to 3 tiger territory in each zone.

All the safari zones in Ranthambore are good and spotting tigers in the jungle depends on your luck and it is a matter of occasion, no matter which zone you go on safari in. Sometimes the tourist sees wild animals like tiger, leopard, bear etc. in the first safari itself, whereas many times the tourist does not see the tiger even after doing 5 to 6 safaris. Ranthambore National Park Safari Track

Normal Advance Safari Booking

Normal advance safari booking is open for 365 days from the date of safari. In this, the tourist can book safari of any date within 365 days from the date of safari booking. As you may be aware that the number of safari vehicles for jungle safaris in Ranthambore National Park is limited. Limited vehicles are allowed in each zone. That's why people often book their safari 2 to 3 months in advance.

You can book advance safari online in Ranthambore National Park under normal safari booking quota in any one zone from Zone 1 to 10 as per availability.

Normal jungle safari takes around 3 to 3 and a half hours. Jungle safaris are held twice a day, one in the morning and the other in the afternoon. Morning safari starts at around 7:00 am and ends at 10:00am and 10:30 am while afternoon safari starts around 2:00 pm and ends at around 5:30pm. Ranthambore National Park Jungle Safari timings vary according to the season. Often tourists like to do this safari more and we also recommend this safari. All jungle safaris in Ranthambore are booked in advance and tourists travel in the zone where normal safaris are booked. Normal Jungle Safari is recommended.

Tatkal or instant Safari Booking

Before booking a jungle safari in Ranthambore, people often ask that which is the best safari zone in Ranthambore for tiger sighting? Or which area has the largest number of tigers? Most tourists' feedback on these questions is for Zones 1 to 6.

According to the feedback, keeping in mind the demand of the people, the Forest Department has fixed the Tatkal booking quota in Zones 1 to 6 and its additional premium safari fee has also been kept.

Under Tatkal booking quota, tourist can book safari in any one zone between Safari Zone 1 to 6 by paying a premium fee. Tatkal Safari booking opens 7 days prior to the date of Safari. Only jeeps are booked under Tatkal booking quota.

Current Safari Booking

Current booking at Ranthambore National Park opens 1 day before of Safari date. Under current booking, the afternoon safari of the same day and morning safari of the next day can be booked. Under current booking, both safari vehicle jeep and canter can be booked for jungle safari. The number of safari vehicles in current booking is very limited so booking safari in current quota is a bit difficult.

Safari booking under the current quota becomes a bit difficult when you are in Ranthambore on a weekend or during a festival period and want to book a jungle safari. That's why people are always advised that if you are planning to visit Ranthambore, then first of all book your safari online in advance, so that the hassle of booking a safari here can be avoided.

Half Day Safari Booking

Under Half Day Safari, visitors now have the option to spend more time as compared to normal Safari. In Half Day Safari, there is an opportunity for the tourist to have zone free access to the entire park.

A half-day safari in Ranthambore National Park is about 6 hours. There are two different shifts for half day safaris. The first shift of Half Day Jungle Safari is from sunrise to 12:00 noon while the second shift of Half Day Jungle Safari is from 12:00 noon to sunset. In total, a half day safari is around 6 hours.

Only 5 jeeps are allowed for half day and full day jungle safaris. Half day and full day jungle safaris can be booked online in advance. The most important thing in this is that in full day and half day safari you can go for about three hours from zone 1 to 5 which is normal safari time and rest of the time you have to roam in zone 6 to 10.

The second thing is that due to the free zone under full day and half day safari, you cannot move from one zone to another from inside the park. If you want to go from one zone to another, then you have to exit from that zone first, then go to the entrance of another zone and then you can visit to another zone.

Some of the key points and terms and conditions of Half Day and Full Day Jungle Safari are as follows.

  • For half day and full day safaris, only 5 people are allowed in a jeep.
  • If you are 5 people for a jungle safari, one of the five is required to do a jungle safari twice within 128 days.
  • Official photo ID number and Safari booking confirmation number of the person going on Jungle Safari twice within 128 days is required.
  • In full day / half day jungle safari, you can roam from zone 1 to 10 but zone 1 to 5 can be visited only during normal jungle safari, rest of the time will have to be spent in zone 6 to 10.
  • Jungle Safari once booked is completely non-refundable and non-transferable.
  • Jeeps and guides for jungle safaris are allotted by roster system.
  • If you want a vehicle of your choice and a guide of your choice, then you will have to pay separately to the forest department.

Ranthambore Jungle Safari

Full Day Safari Booking

The full day jungle safari in Ranthambore National Park takes place from sunrise to sunset. It is about 12 hours. The full day jungle safari allows tourists to stay inside the park from sunrise to sunset and provides zone free access to the entire 10 zones of the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.

The full day jungle safari also has the same terms and conditions as the half day jungle safari.
